Oak Tree Mobility is proud to announce that we have joined the Disability Confident scheme. Disability Confident is a government initiative and a nationally recognised scheme that encourages businesses to recruit and retain disabled people and people with health conditions in the workplace. Oak Tree Mobility is committed to improving work opportunities for everyone and also has an Investors in People Bronze Award . We are working harder than ever to remove barriers in the recruitment of disabled people, seeking support when needed and hiring local disabled job seekers.
About the scheme, Penny Mordant MP said, “There are almost 500,000 more disabled people working compared with the same time in 2013: but there is still more to do. That’s why we’re making it easier for disabled people to get the support they need to do their job through Access to Work and we’re asking employers to take steps to be Disability Confident.”
Carl Drake, Managing Director of Oak Tree Mobility, was delighted with the news. “We are very proud to become part of the Disability Confident scheme as it aligns perfectly with our beliefs. Oak Tree has always been an employer that cares deeply about the rights of disabled people. We want everyone to feel welcome and be treated as equals in the workplace, and we will continue to support those who wish to further their careers in the mobility industry.”
