Below is her advice on why Oak Tree rise and recline chairs and adjustable beds can be life-changing.
Oak Tree Beds
Samantha talks about how “An adjustable bed allows you to get into a more comfortable position. So, for some people with swollen legs or poor circulation, being able to raise your feet might give you less swelling which will enable you to have more function the next morning.”
If you raise your legs while you sleep, your heart can pump blood around your body more easily. This will reduce swelling in your legs. Often if you have swollen legs it can get worse and night and, in the morning, because you’ve been still for the majority of the night. This can be painful, but with an adjustable bed, you can reduce this pain and get a good night’s sleep.
She also outlines that “If you have breathing problems, chest problems or even backaches, raising your upper body at a slight angle can help you to get a much more comfortable, great night’s sleep. Being able to raise the top half of your body also enables you to get out of bed more easily and more comfortably.”
Sleeping with your back slightly raised allows your lungs to open and you to breath more easily. It will also support the lumbar region of your back. Staying mobile for longer is crucial for your physical and mental wellbeing.
Samantha warns that “Cushions and pillows can offer some sort of comfort but they will move around while you’re sleeping which will put your body into a bad posture. The bed will keep you into a better protective posture.”
You should never stack your pillows to sleep on because they are not secure and may not support you throughout the night. Adjustable beds will provide you with the perfect sleeping position.
She advises that “We can all make changes to our every-day lives, this will help you improve your mobility and keep you active for longer.”

Oak Tree Chairs
Samantha Shann warns that “Too much standing or sitting can lead to poor circulation and what’s recommended is we raise our legs and a high leg lift is about getting your legs above the level of your heart. This helps pump the blood back to your heart.”
Our rise and recline chairs help with poor circulation and swollen legs and ankles. This will have a positive effect on your mobility.
She also explains that “Oak Tree chairs give good support to the back, the knees, ankle joints and helps you sit in a comfortable position. Any time that you can manage to raise the level of your legs, even if it’s not above heart level is good for taking pressure off sore joints and easing back pain.
“If you use a footstool or a table to prop your feet, you put pressure on your heels and if you’ve got poor circulation that can lead to skin break downs and it can also fail to support your knees so you put extra damage onto your knee joints. Having that in-built support that’s full leg length from your hips down to your heels gives full, proper support to all the necessary joints.”
Oak Tree chairs give full support to the whole of your body and every joint. With our high leg lift chair motor, you are sat in a perfectly contoured position that supports all your pressure points. Even if you choose a chair with a dual motor, this will still help you raise your legs and take the pressure off your joints.
Furthermore, “Oak Tree rise and recliner chairs help you to sit comfortably but also helps you to get out of the chair comfortably. When you go from sitting to standing the most pressure is put on your lower back and knee joints and the chair helps you to stand comfortably and safely.”
Not being able to get in and out of your chair can be frustrating and painful. But with an Oak Tree chair, things can be different, at the touch of a button let the chair take any pressure you’re feeling off of your knees and hip joints.
Samantha says “Raising your feet is now becoming an everyday activity and the design of mobility products now is so different from what you might be used to. They’re more contemporary, they fit into everyday lives. A lot of mobility products don’t look like what we thought were mobility products they’re part-in-parcel of what furniture does.”
