Pocket Sprung Mattress
The mattress that you know and love, a pocket sprung mattress does what it says on the tin. It’s a mattress that is filled with individually pocketed springs encased in sumptuous fibre fillings. It perfectly contours to your body to help you drift off to sleep.
Advantages
- Pocket Sprung mattresses follow the innate contour your body and, therefore provides perfect orthopaedic support. The reason for this is that the springs can move independently. A pocket sprung mattress contains 100s and 1000s of individual springs encased in soft fabric pockets and each spring works independently as you lie on it. This mechanism also works with two sleepers. The mattress will support each person, without creating a dip.
- Another advantage is that the individually pocketed springs reduce roll together.
- Some pocket spring mattresses have denser springs at the edge to prevent this roll-off and different spring densities to support different parts of the body.
- There are different types of densities available. This means you can choose between a soft, medium and firm mattress depending on what you need.
- Pocket spring mattresses are long lasting, sturdy and cost-effective.
- The spring system is normally concealed in layers of plush padding. These can be natural materials like wool, cotton or silk, or synthetic material like polyester.
